Miscellaneous

Things I Like

Classical music. I play the piano regularly. These days, I am practicing Haydn’s Sonata Hob. XVI:49, Schubert’s Impromptu No. 2, D. 899, and Balakirev’s The Lark. My favorite composers are Sergei Rachmaninoff and Maurice Ravel.

Languages. I have recently become interested in language learning. I speak a little Spanish and am learning French. I am fluent in English and a native speaker of Wenzhounese and Mandarin Chinese.

Chemistry. I took part in the Chemistry Olympiad in 2016 and 2017 and earned a gold medal at China’s national final in 2017. I later coauthored a tutorial book in Chinese with my high school teacher. Published by Zhejiang University Press in 2023, it has sold more than 18000 copies. While I am no longer active in chemistry, I update the book each year and still know my way around the subject.

Gaming. I enjoy simulation games that call for plenty of planning and engineering, like Oxygen Not Included and Cities: Skylines, as well as ones that let me switch off, like Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.
